April Shopping Dates at Our Kids' Closet

It’s been a busy month at Our Kids’ Closet.  We had an abundance of new donations along with help from our March shoppers to diminish our winter stock in anticipation of the turn over to summer clothing.  With the change of season we spend many hours going through each piece of remaining clothing and save as much as we can for next year and then joyfully pass on what we cannot use to other agencies.  I’m happy to report we have finished and will be fully stocked with summer clothing for our next shopping days.  If you're in need of summer clothing stop on in and find some items for the upcoming season.
Our Kids' Closet exists only because of the generous donations of like-new clothing so please keep us in mind and drop off some of those clothes that you no longer need - we accept newborn through size 14/16.  Our 24 hour donation bin is located at St. Boniface Church or drop off on any of our open shopping days at Columbia St. Mary's Clinic - both in Germantown, WI.

As always if you live in Washington, Waukesha, or Ozaukee county, are of low income and your children are in need of clothing (newborn through 14/16), you are welcome to stop on in and do some shopping. We've got open shopping dates every month and would look forward to seeing you.

We are open for shopping on the 1st Thursday (6-8 pm) and 1st Saturday (9-11 am) every month, our next shopping dates are:
  Saturday, April 1st 9-11am
  Thursday, April 6th 6-8pm

Divine Consign Donation

Our Kids’ Closet would like to thank Divine Consign for their generous donation of beautiful children’s clothing to our facility. Divine Consign is a community-based, one-of-a-kind shopping event that allows women to buy fashion at great bargains and also earn money.  It is truly a Divine shopping experience!  The clothing they passed on to us was in such wonderful condition that it was a special treat for our volunteers to go through the bags and hang up the items.  I’m sure that the donated items will be gladly taken home and much appreciated by our clientele.  Thank-you so much for your generosity!

Thanks to the students from Grafton Elementary School

A big thank- you to the Student Council students, and teachers of Grafton Elementary school for hosting a clothing drive for Our Kids' Closet. The drive was a big success - look at all those boxes of clothes!! We really appreciated all the clothing they brought us.  Good job and Bravo!!!

This kind of service project is making a real difference to real people; we will be distributing the clothing that you collected at our next shopping days.  Their support of our mission to help others that are in need is something that we know the families appreciate, and so do we!  You are making a real difference. TCI's Mitten Tree

A big thanks to all of the folks at TCI, LLC of Germantown!. They gathered and donated a bunch of great items for our shoppers. And they did it with style: They hosted a “mitten tree” as you'll see in the picture.

It was great, and VERY successful.  The new hats, gloves, scarves and clothing will all go to those who need them.

The generosity of the people and businesses that we have within our community never fails to amaze me.

Thanks TCI!!!

Thanks to Germantown Neighborhood Stitchery group

Over the last 5 years, a wonderful group of ladies from Germantown - the Neighborhood Stitchery Group - have been sending these great gifts to Our Kids Closet. We are very appreciative.

This year we decided to bring your donations home and take a picture beside our Christmas tree before setting them out for our patrons.  What fun that was…each item was cuter than the next!  Oh yeah - and the hats are sooo neat!

Each gift will all find a new home with some lucky family very quickly.

Thanks again (and again)!!!
