Lion-sized thank you!

We have so many generous donors, that we can’t recognize a fraction of them here. But as a New Year’s resolution: We want to highlight a few more of these organizations this year. So, a big thank you to the Richfield Lions Club for their support year after year. Their most recent donation of socks, underwear, gloves, snow pants and other clothing items are very much appreciated by our shoppers.

These last couple of years have been particularly stressful on us all – but especially on families. Most of our families just need a little help to get them through these difficult times, with the Richfield Lions Club donation along with our community support you are helping do just that!  We really appreciated you thinking of us and contributing to our mission again in 2021.

And if you are looking to join an organization that cares and gives back to our community, please consider the Richfield Lions Club. You can find more information about them at their web site: http://richfieldwilions.org/

One way they keep giving back

Not sure how you can help? Here’s one creative way that some ex-locals do:

Bob and Cathy spent many happy years living in Germantown. A few years ago, they retired and moved to their new home in central Wisconsin, but they never forgot their roots and they keep on giving back.

All summer long they frequent the local rummage sales on a mission to find the most beautiful clothes (mostly jackets, boots, and snow pants) to donate to Our Kids’ Closet.  They purchase all of this with their own money, always looking for the best clothes at the best price. But they’ve also found that if they ask, a few sellers generously offer to donate some of the items for this worthy cause. When the boxes and truck are full we meet up to unload their stuffed SUV and load up ours.

They’ve found their own way to give back, and it’s a great example of a generous heart that makes us smile and appreciate the goodness in others.  Our Kids’ Closet would like to applaud Bob and Cathy for their efforts. They don’t want the recognition, so we’re keeping their names to ourselves. But their donations are keeping lots of kids warm and comfortable.

Creative efforts like this – small and large - are what keep us on track to keep helping the families that shop at Our Kids’ Closet. This is just one approach that’s making a real difference in people’s lives. If you have other creative ideas on how to help, drop us a line and let us know.
